Her name was Meipa after Meip from the diary of Ann Frank.
My internet is down for who knows how long (about 2 days). Jesus, this sucks. I really think that learning about how to entertain myself without having access to the world wide web will allow me to grow as a person (not really). Yet, I can’t help but longingly gawk upon the razor blades sitting on my shelf…. I must find something to do before I resort to that.
So, instead of mourn my loss I decided to compose this post about the things on the net I will be having withdrawals from. That’s right, I’m doing a Top 10 Web Sites/Apps I Can’t Live Without.
LIST
- G Mail: G Mail is how I communicate with the rest of the world… without it I find myself wondering what everyone else is doing. When do I need to complete those tasks I have Stikkit remind me about? Oh God, I have no idea how to live without my G Mail.
- Virb: Again, it is all about the communication. Virb, like My Space before it, has supplanted many of my friend’s email accounts. I mean, not a simple “Oh, I don’t like email I like My Space…” No, they really don’t check their email and social networks are the only way to reach them.
- Stikkit: Stikkit is a smart (witty?) productivity app that auto-magically turns little blurbs posted on it into smart “stickies”
- My Grade Book: My school signed up for this service… it allows for students to track their grades. Apparently, I really have an urge to know what I made on the quiz I took the Wednesday before spring-break.
- Google IG: Oh my RSS feeds, my glorious RSS feeds, how I miss your informative glorious
- You Tube: Some times you just have to waste time….
- Xbox Live: Not sure if this counts as a web app but, I reaaly need an On-Line Crackdown fix.
- Wikipedia: I can’t tell you how many things I’ve seen on TV or read about in WIRED/random book from my shelf (Grendel) and thought: “What? I’d better look this up on Wikipedia.”
- Google: See above; but, sub-in Google for Wikipedia.
- Pod Casts: Really? Pod-Casts? Yes, This is how I get most of my daily fix of information. I get news from Rocket Boom, NPR and The BBC. I get a tech fix from TWiT, DLTV, Mac Break, Diggnation, etc. And, I get thoroughly entertained by Tiki Bar TV, Ask A Ninja and That Phone Guy. Jesums, I love me some Podcasts….

This year, Nintendo is readying a bevy of “new” games. Sure, no huge announcements, but a good look at some stuff we already knew about. The main announcements were the ones from the Miyamoto key-note.
Super Paper Mario
So, the paper mario games are great games. RPGs for the not-so FF set. And, this year, they’re focusing even more on the platformer part of the equation. Not only are they upping the jumping action, they’re making a mixed 2d-3d type of game. You can seamlessly transition from old-school-looking mario to this strange hybrid of games that sends you traveling down a tube instead of traveling across the screen.
Mario Galaxy
This game appears to be a highly awesome looking neo-platformer. You controll Mario as he jumps from tiny planet to tiny planet. Plus, in the new trailer, Mario is seen playing on larger planets that resemble the older Mario-64 stages. This game is a Wii seller is there ever was one.
I'm sick, in that can't swallow without cringing kind of way. The elixir that pushes me through my day (spent exclusively on the couch...) is this all-in-one Robitussin Cough, Cold & Flu stuff. It knocks me out, so I can't complain. I can't form too-coherent phrases but, I can swallow some over-processed chicken noodle soup.
